A few months ago around Valentine's Day I received a lovely email from a William and Mary College student who was interested in a couples portrait session for her and her boyfriend, another William and Mary student. He is graduating this year and moving a few hours away to start his career and she will be studying abroad next year. Knowing they will be far apart, they wanted to preserve their relationship as it is right now with photos. So awesome...this is why I love what I do!
Naturally they wanted the shoot on the beautiful William and Mary campus. As a wife, mother of three children, and running my photography business, I thought I was busy. I apparently don't have much on college students these days!! Between their classes, organizations, trips, and activities, we finally worked everyone's schedules out for our shoot. We met on campus on an early evening that was threatening us with rain. Thankfully, the weather played nice and I had the pleasure of spending time with this extremely charming couple.
Can I just tell you how easy they made my job.... they were so sweet, fun, and affectionate with each other that I think sometimes they forgot I was even there with my camera! We began our session on the legendary Crim Dell bridge.
Since this was their campus where they spent most of their time, they certainly had ideas about where they wanted to be photographed. One of them was in a tree. I admit, I was skeptical and even with my step ladder, I wasn't sure how well this would work! But apparently, I just needed to trust them because these images were amazing and so romantic!
In addition to interesting locations there were also outfits!! Love! Time to get all decked out for a few portraits in her gorgeous qipao and suit.
This busy couple had a formal dinner to attend this evening, so another quick change! How elegant do they look on the stairs of the Wren Building?!
In case you couldn't tell, I really enjoyed this session! I was honored to preserve this special moment of time in their lives for them. I would love to preserve your special moments in time too...contact me to discuss your custom photography session today!
